Many Women With Lupus Can Safely Use the Pill

Contrary to conventional wisdom, two new studies show that women with mild-to-moderate forms of lupus can take oral contraceptives without exacerbating the disease.

The findings mean that thousands of women with the autoimmune disease will have more choice when it comes to birth control, the researchers said.

Nurses Face Sexual Harassment From Patients

Nurse Sarah Andres is so used to male patients calling her "sweetie" or "cutie" -- or even asking her for a kiss -- that it rarely upsets her anymore.

"I usually chalk it up to they don't feel good, a lot of them are confused," said Andres, who has been a nurse in St. Louis, Missouri, for five years and works in the critical care unit at St. Mary's Health Center. "I never really thought of it as sexual harassment."

But nursing organizations say such treatment is common, and it is definitely sexual harassment.

If you feel you've been sexually harassed while caring for patients, read CNN's information to learn more.

CDC Recommends New Blood Test for TB

Federal health officials are recommending a new, more accurate blood test for tuberculosis that may someday replace the skin test used for the past 100 years.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that the test — called the QuantiFERON-TB Gold — is less likely to yield false positive readings and more convenient for patients.

Experts to Create Genetic Map of Cancer

Cancer is a disease of genes run amok, and scientists have found only a fraction of the bad actors. Tuesday, the government unveiled a $100 million project to speed discovery of culprits and cures, the first step toward a comprehensive map of cancer's genetic makeup.

It's an audacious project the technology to even try it wasn't available just a few years ago.

Learn more specific about the project, as well as when scientists will begin the mapping process at the ABC News online site.

Diet High in Milk May Reduce Breast Cancer Risk

Postmenopausal women who eat lots of dairy products may be less likely to develop breast cancer.

Don’t skip over the word “may” in that sentence. It’s too soon to declare dairy as protector against breast cancer, the researchers caution.

Find out the specific findings and how you may be able to reduce your cancer risk at Fox News.

Most U.S. Companies Don't Have Super-Flu Plans

If a super-flu sweeps the globe, who will haul away the garbage? Keep the factories running, making cars and computers and tissues? Stock and sell groceries? Keep electricity flowing?

Most U.S. companies haven't planned for how to stay in business during a flu pandemic, when their workers may be too sick or scared to show up and their supply chains disappear, a major new survey of some of the nation's largest firms shows.

Learn more about corporate America's current lack of readiness and how they are addressing the potential problem at the MSNBC website.
