AACCA Signs Agreement with Pearson VUE to Administer Nationwide Certification Testing

The AACCA will provide the nation's first completely-integrated (CPT/ICD/HCPCS), computer-based certification examination with instant results.  All exams provided by AACCA will be 200 multiple-choice questions, delivered in four 50-question sections, each timed at a maximum of 90 minutes each and will be available at any Pearson VUE testing facility across the country.

New Study Examines Emergency Services Failure Rates Across the Nation

Not sure about the quality of emergency services in your area? Explore USA Today's recent study of emergency medical systems. The study finds that most of the nation's 50 largest cities are unorganized, inconsistent and slow.

Among information discovered during a lengthy 18-month investigation, USA Today found that the chance of surviving a dire medical emergency in the U.S. is a matter of geography.

FDA Proposes New Rules to Revise Blood Shortage and Container Labeling Requirements

The FDA has issued a proposed rule to revise the labeling and storage requirements for blood and blood components including source plasma, which combines, simplifies, and updates regulations related to blood container labeling and to the storage and shipping temperatures of frozen blood components. This rule will make it easier for the blood industry to comply with existing regulations and manage the supply of plasma to further enhance the safety of the blood supply while reducing the cost of regulatory compliance through greater efficiency.  To learn more specifics about these proposed changes, please visit the FDA's press release and the Federal Register's listing information on the FDA's proposed rule.
