AACCA Exam Applications

All AACCA certification testing is conducted through our testing facilities.

Please directly contact the AACCA with all testing and certifications questions at certifications@aacca.net.

Please Note: "The 2006 CPT, ICD9, and HCPCS coding manuals are authorized for RN-Coder and CMC testing thru March 31, 2007.  On April 1, 2007, the certification exams will be updated to the 2007 coding manuals.  It is highly recommended that the 2007 coding manuals be used on all AACCA certification exams taken on or after April 1, 2007."

The ACCAA application process is simple:

  1. You must be a current member of the AACCA in order to receive certification consideration.  If you are not a current AACCA member, click here to learn more about the AACCA membership process and join our organization.

  2. Print out and complete the AACCA certification exam application and candidate disclaimer.

  3. PAY ONLINE HERE FOR YOUR EXAM;You choose:

    RN-AUDITOR

    RN-CODER

    -----OR-----

  4. Make out a check or money order payable to the address listed below.

  5. Mail your certification exam application, candidate disclaimer and payment to the AACCA.

From there, the AACCA reviews your application (please allow at least 10 business days for this process).  Upon acceptance, you will receive a formal Authorization to Test letter signifying approval from the AACCA.

Upon receipt of the Authorization to Test letter, you may contact us to schedule an appointment. Be sure to read the Authorization to Test letter carefully as it contains specific instructions regarding your testing experience. You will be required to bring your original Authorization to Test letter with you to the testing along with valid identification as noted in your letter.

Please Note : You are required to have received your authorization to test letter before you can set up your test with us. Contacting our testing centers before receipt of this letter will not allow to schedule a testing time.  We have status updates that are sent to our testing facilities.  The AACCA will not provide our testing centers with permission to allow you to test until your authorization to test letter has been sent to you.

When you have received your Preliminary Score Report from our testing centers, be sure to fax it to AACCA for validation.  The AACCA fax number, available 24/7 is: 909-579-0508.

After the AACCA receives and validates your test results, you will receive a form on which to provide the EXACT NAME you would like on you Credential -- and the EXACT CREDENTIAL you are receiving.

Example: If you are not an RN, you will probably want the "Certified Clinical Coder" credential. However, if you are an MD, you may want "Certified MD-Coder." And if you are a Physician's Assistant, you may want the "Certified PA-Coder."

You will receive your credential, suitable for framing, approximately 2 weeks (10 business days) after AACCA receives and validates your test score report.
